Renters insurance policies do not automatically renew. Unlike some other types of insurance, such as auto or health insurance, renters insurance policies typically do not have an automatic renewal feature. This means that at the end of the policy term, the policy will not automatically renew for another term. Instead, the policyholder will need to take action to renew the policy if they wish to continue their coverage.

When the policy is nearing its expiration date, the insurance company will usually send a renewal notice to the policyholder. This notice will provide information about the upcoming expiration and instructions on how to renew the policy. The policyholder will need to review the renewal notice, make any necessary updates or changes to their coverage, and pay the premium for the new policy term.

It's important for renters to be aware of their policy expiration date and take proactive steps to renew their coverage if they want to continue to be protected. Failing to renew the policy before it expires could leave the policyholder without insurance coverage for their personal belongings and liability protection.
