I scratched a car while backing out in a parking lot and I already notified my insurance company. The other party wants me to pay for their repair and they said that if they do not report it, I should not get any points on my record even if it was my fault. Is this true?

If the other party doesn't report the scratch to their insurance company, it is possible that you may not receive any points on your driving record. However, this can vary depending on the specific policies of your insurance company and the laws in your jurisdiction. It is important to note that even if no points are added to your record, the accident may still be recorded in your claims history, which could potentially affect your insurance rates in the future. It is always best to consult with your insurance company to understand how they handle these situations and to ensure that you are following the appropriate procedures.(https://www.policygenius.com/auto-insurance/does-auto-insurance-cover-scratches/)
