Can my wife be eligible for Medicare? I am wondering if my wife can qualify for Medicare. We are both retired and I am already enrolled in Medicare. I want to know if she can also get coverage under Medicare.

Yes, your wife may be eligible for Medicare. Medicare is a federal health insurance program in the United States that primarily provides coverage for individuals who are 65 years or older. However, there are certain circumstances where individuals who are under 65 may also be eligible for Medicare. One such circumstance is if they have a disability and have been receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits for at least 24 months. Another circumstance is if they have end-stage renal disease (ESRD) or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). In your case, since you are already enrolled in Medicare, your wife may be eligible for Medicare based on her age if she is 65 or older. She may also be eligible if she has a disability and has been receiving SSDI benefits for at least 24 months, or if she has ESRD or ALS. It is important to note that eligibility requirements may vary, so it is recommended to contact the Social Security Administration or visit the official Medicare website for more information on specific eligibility criteria and enrollment options.
